Many New Yorkers stocked up on Champagne to help themselves get through one of the worst blizzards on America’s north-east coast.
The shut-down of the city was a great opportunity for residents to drink Champagne and enjoy the rare peaceful moments in the usually-busy city. It’s no surprise – sparkling wine is a wonderful drink to cheer you up on a cold Winters day.
Outside the city, vineyards in Virginia experienced up to 46 inches of snow. Thankfully, it’s not caused any serious damage to the vines.
The snow has since cleared up and life is back to normal – wine-lovers of New York will be happy to know that wine-merchants are back open and running!
