Please note: this is a working draft prepared for review and should be checked by a qualified adviser before it is published.

2. The Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following personal data:
• Contact details you provide — such as your name, email address, phone number, company name and postal address — when you enter our awards, sign up to our newsletter, or get in touch with us.
• Newsletter preferences — when you sign up to our newsletter, we also record whether you are subscribing as a consumer or as a member of the trade, so we can tailor the content we send you.
• Awards entry details — the information you submit through our entry form, including the number of wines you wish to enter and any VAT number.
• Communications — the content of messages and enquiries you send us.
• Technical and usage data — such as your IP address, browser type, device information and how you use our website, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
• Administer and run our awards, events and services (legal basis: performance of a contract or steps prior to a contract).
• Send you our newsletter, offers and marketing where you have asked to receive them, and tailor that content to your interests as a consumer or member of the trade (legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
• Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support (legal basis: our legitimate interests in assisting you).
• Operate, maintain and improve our website and understand how it is used (legal basis: our legitimate interests).
• Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make it work and to improve your experience. For full details of the cookies we use and how to manage them, please see our Cookie Policy.
5. Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract:
• Netlify — website hosting and form submissions
• Supabase — secure database hosting for the records we keep ourselves (for example, awards entries, newsletter sign-ups and enquiries)
• Publit.io — image and media hosting
• Resend — sending transactional and notification emails
• Cloudflare — spam and bot protection on our forms (Turnstile — see section 9)
Each of these providers is required to keep your data secure and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We may also disclose your data where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we take steps to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection, for example through adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we hold your sign-up details on our own mailing list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, after which we securely delete them.
8. How We Protect Your Data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Spam and Bot Protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
Our forms — including our awards entry, newsletter sign-up, contact and other enquiry forms — are protected from spam and automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc.
When you complete one of our forms, Turnstile collects certain technical signals from your device in order to tell human visitors and automated bots apart. These signals may include your IP address, information about your browser and device (such as the user-agent and a TLS fingerprint), and the web address and site key of the page you are using. Cloudflare has stated that it cannot directly identify any individual from these signals, and that they are not used to identify, profile or target individuals — they are used solely to detect and block bots and to improve Cloudflare’s bot-detection algorithms.
We use Turnstile on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping our website and forms secure and free from spam and abuse. For more information about how Cloudflare handles the data collected by Turnstile, please see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy at cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy, together with Cloudflare’s main Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
10. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to our processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from our marketing at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@glassofbubbly.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
