Champagne Taittinger Sponsored Food For Celebration Award 2015

For the second year running, Champagne Taittinger has sponsored the Food For Celebration category at the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year awards 2015.  The winner of the category, announced on last night at the awards ceremony in London, was Photographer and Designer, Mark Benham for his image, ‘Obidos Mediaeval Festival, Portugal’.  He was presented with his trophy by Lynn Murray, UK Marketing Director, Hatch Mansfield – UK sole agents for Champagne Taittinger.

Lynn comments, ‘We are keen supporters of the arts at Champagne Taittinger.  We have been a supporter of these awards from the very beginning and we proud to be sponsoring this fantastic category for the second year running.  This year the competition was more international than ever and the standard was impressive.’

More than 400 guests and finalists from across the world attended the awards ceremony, compered by chairman of the judges, journalist and food critic Jay Rayner who admitted to being a Champagne Taittinger fan.  Competition was fiercer than ever with more than 6,400 images were entered overall.  Vitalie Taittinger, Marketing Director of the family owned Champagne House was on the judging panel, along with David Loftus, Jamie Oliver’s photographer; Michel Roux Jr, chef patron; Sanjeev Kapoor, India’s culinary superstar; Emily Luchetti, Chair, James Beard Foundation, NYC and Nik Powell, Director, National Film & Television School.

Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year is an international celebration of the art of food photography.   The top prize of £5,000 and the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2015 title was won by David Griffen for his image ‘Smoked Wings’.
