If you took the Sugar Free Challenge . . . Keep Calm and Drink ‘Brut Zero’ Champagne!

The amazing changing wine

The BBC Good Food Eat Well Show was held at Olympia London between 27 February and 1 March 2015. One of the many eat well challenges being promoted was the ‘Sugar Free Challenge’, which was  championed by Davina McCall.

Surprisingly, Champagne can still be enjoyed, if you chose a ‘Brut Zero’ (Brut Nature) which typically has no added sugar (dosage) and less than 3 grams per liter of ‘residual sugar’. And with less than 3 carbs and less than 90 calories a glass you can . . . “Keep Calm and Drink ‘Brut Zero’ Champagne!”

Original & Distinctive sell three Brut Zero Champagnes:
L&S CHEURLIN 0%
Brut Zéro
70% Pinot Noir / 30% Chardonnay
A non dosé Champagne that allows the full flavour of the grapes to come through.

JACQUINOT ET FILS Private Cuvée
Brut Zéro
70% Chardonnay / 30% Pinot Noir
The hue is golden and the tiny bubbles form a persistent and delicate mousse. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in this vintage are expressed in a fresh and fruity bouquet. Its roundness and freshness being pronounced due to very little dosage.

GUY CHARLEMAGNE Nature
Brut Zéro

From the chalky-clay terroir of Sézanne, this brut Champagne non dosé is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Vinified in thermo regulated stainless steel and matured for 2 years in the cellars, it is a blend of different years.
