BK Wine Tour to South Africa

The first spring wine tour on BKWine’s program takes the traveller to South Africa, who produce many top world-class wines. The tour extends over nine days and takes the traveller to famous wine regions of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek and some of the best wine estates in the country, including meetings with the winemakers and extensive private tastings. It also includes visits of Cape Town, the Cape of Good Hope and some of the other spectacular tourist attractions in the Cape region. The tour takes place on February 26 to March 7, 2016.

As a wine country South Africa is considered as The New World, but it is “new” with a long history. The Dutchman Jan Van Riebeek planted the first vines in 1655 not far from Cape Town. Since sparkling wine from South Africa (methode cap classique) has become a very interesting category and with the rising interest in bubbles, we will be sure to showcase some good ones on the tour.

Britt Karlsson, founder of BKWine, comments: “Our wine tours will give the wine enthusiast – or the wine professional – a unique insight into these wine regions. We are also award winning authors and wine journalists and thanks to that we have an exceptional network of contacts with wineries and winemakers, which opens doors otherwise shut. The travellers on our tours will experience things that are often not available to the general public.”
