Hampshire winery Hattingley Valley is starting the year with a sustainable foot forward and is supporting the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, aiding the imperative rescue service provider to help raise vital funds.

Throughout Hampshire, members of the public are being encouraged to recycle any aluminium or copper they can find and drop it off at designated drop off centres across the area. This aluminium is then sold on to be repurposed, not only reducing waste but also raising money that is then donated to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Hattingley Valley has got involved by collecting the foils and wire hoods accumulated from the winery’s various tours and tasting sessions, so far making two large drop offs in the last six months.

Rebecca Fisher, Partnerships & Events Manager at Hattingley Valley says: “I was first introduced to this initiative in summer 2021 and I think it’s such a great and simple way to help raise money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service. Last year, the group raised an impressive £5448.18 for the charity with just 145 participating members, so I think if we can get the word out there even more, we can look to make a real difference.”
