Bartender Made Cocktails - French 57

This article is made in collaboration with Uttkarsh Anthwal, an amazing Bartender in India.

The Cocktail that you are about to make is one of Uttkarsh Anthwal’s Signature Fizz Cocktails, which he makes at Perch Wine & Coffee Bar in India.

Let’s Meet The Bartender!

“My full name is Uttkarsh Anthwal and I am from India. I joined bartending after watching a wonderful Indian flair bartender, I was in an event where I saw him and he was flipping bottles with fluids inside of them and entertaining everyone I decided I want to learn that.”

“After that, I did a bartending course and learned a little bit of flair moves and got into the industry and now do bartending as a full-time job. While at my job it was very hard to practice flair so according to time I left flair and got more into cocktails recipes and mixology it’s been just half a year for me in this industry.”

“Now I m working with an organization that believes in mixology and the knowledge of the bartender so I am working and learning with them and I try to practice in my free time cause I really like to flair.” Uttkarsh Anthwal

What was the inspiration behind French 57?

“I was reading about cocktails one day and went through the french 75, I tried to make a twist on the original. I made rosemary cordial to give it a sweet-sour and aromatic texture and taste which replaced lime and sweet and added a bit of orange liqueur for giving it a zesty touch. And it was not so bad 🙂 at least it was drinkable!”
