Champagne Château de Boursault – Rosé de Saignée – Bronze First Date
28th December 2017
Congratulations to Champagne Château de Boursault with their Rosé de Saignée which received a bronze medal at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly awards 2017.
A panel of 36 top industry wine judges tasted all the entries for 2017 and were able to not only scores wines with medals, but also place them in to easy to understand categories such as First Date: “The perfect wine to accompany that first date, fruity and slightly off dry to enhance that special occasion. Nothing too complex and not necessarily a wine that needs to pair with exact foods.”
With its red fruit, cherry, raspberry and redcurrant aromas, the Rosé de Saignée of Champagne Château de Boursault is clear, sophisticated, balanced with a long-lasting taste. It will accompany you perfectly from aperitif to dessert.
Unlike blended pink champagne, Champagne Rosé de Saignée is achieved by allowing the musts to briefly macerate with the skin of the grapes. The natural pigments contained in the skin of black grapes will then colour the juices by enriching them with their natural extracts.
“I am lucky enough to have visited this winery with their impressive chateaux of Madame Clicquot – It is a must location to take a tour of. I also tasted their selection of Champagne to include this rosé saignée which I felt really expressed an array of red and blackberry fruits, fresh and crisp and an ideal Champagne to pop for those aperitifs or those lazy Summer days in the garden… Any first date would be wow’d with this bubbly!” Christopher Walkey
