Champagne Collet

Created in 1921, Champagne Collet in Ay is the oldest society of Champagne growers and takes its name from its founder.

The company’s origins go back to the Champagne Revolution in 1911 when winegrowers in Champagne took action against a number of producers who decided to mix grapes coming from other wine growing regions with the grapes from Champagne – something that would be unimaginable today.

As a firmly-established champagne House, Collet is supplied from over 650 hectares (1,600 acres) of vineyards planted with the three varieties in the best Champagne villages ~ Chardonnay, a white grape that offers finesse and elegance, Pinot Noir, for its body and generosity, and Pinot Meunier, for its freshness and fruitiness. For decades the Champagnes have been aged in century-old cellars dug from the surrounding clay, providing a constant temperature for the wines to improve.
