It’s the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas is soon approaching and Glass of Bubbly is crafting a whole new exciting range of Christmas Cocktails, we’ve chosen some of the best Christmas films and created a perfect Cocktail to accompany them, working alongside different wineries and distilleries, I’ll give you a little history into each film and the know-how to create a delicious themed Cocktail.

Jingle All The Way

Jingle All The Way was inspired by the real-life last-minute rush for the most popular and normally sold out Christmas toys, like the Cabbage Patch Kids, written by Randy Kornfield and rewritten by the Producer Chris Columbus adding in the elements of satire about the commercialization of Christmas.

The script was picked up by 20th Century Fox and it’s only because there were delays to the reboot of Planet of the Apes that Arnold Schwarzenegger got to play the lead role.

Howard Langston: You guys are nothing but a bunch of sleazy conmen in red suits.
Mall Santa: What did you call us?
Howard Langston: You heard me right. Conmen. Thieves. Degenerates. Low-lifes. Thugs. Criminals!
Mall Santa: At the North Pole, them are fightin’ words, partner.”

With a budget of $75 million, it grossed $129.8 million worldwide but was generally negatively reviewed by critics, it has since become a Christmas Classic, being enjoyed by fans every Christmas around the world.

The Sparkling Wine – Vina Stoka

Stoka has been around since 1839, located on the southwest Slovenian border, they first started marketing the Stoka brand in 1989, the same year they started bottling their wine. They own 30 hectares of land, with 7 hectares being used as vineyards, across those 7 hectares are 30,000 vines, all growing grapes.

The Rum – Labourdonnais

Located amidst beautiful orchards and sugar cane fields on an estate in the north of Mauritius, Distillerie de Labourdonnais is rich in rum-making tradition, the family owned estate has been growing sugar cane since the 18th century, with the Chateau dating from the 1850s.

Mauritius is located in the Indian Ocean, it is a prime location for the production of Rum, in recent years a lot of industrial rum has been produced in Mauritius, but three traditional craft distilleries continue the French tradition of producing distinctive and refined rums from pure sugarcane juice.

Founded in 2006, Labourdonnais is a resurrection of the old ‘Rhumerie des Mascareignes’, the youngest of the artisanal distilleries.
