I’d like to dedicate my Valentine’s Day article to those who believe in true love, the eternal romantics who live for love and those who are still looking for their own soulmate. This article is for all of you.

Love: what a wonderful word, it makes us happy just to say it. Love fills the heart with joy, love makes us dream of a rosy horizon, love is our guiding star. Love simply makes our lives better.

Unfortunately, I know it’s not easy to get, it’s probably the most unlikely treasure on earth to find and we strive throughout our lives for it. But what if that true love everyone would die for came actually from nature. What if we found a reason to live and we took care of it with the same affection we would give to our lover every day.

Is that like true love? Would it last forever equally? Would it give us priceless moments of happiness too? I think so. I’ll give you now, my dear fizz lover, a few clues on where to look.

It’s pinkish, it shines like stars, it is brought to you through a winding object and it comes from a sunny, fertile, lavish land in Italy.

Still not sure about what it is? Well, I’ll tell you more. It’s liquid, not merely a liquid, it’s a carrier of glee and delight brought to you by those who love their land as if it was the most precious treasure of all.

It’s time to let the cat out of the bag and unveil its identity: it’s a wine, not a common wine, it’s an Italian Rosé Brut from Rosa del Golfo, a winery of long tradition run by the Calò family in the sun-soaked Puglia region.

It’s an unforgettable sparkling wine that will give you same joy as having found a true love. And what better occasion to enjoy it than Valentine’s Day?

Whether tasted by yourself in the intimacy of your own home or with the company of your lover, I’m pretty sure you’ll simply love it for being alluring, joyful and astonishing. It will win you over with its brilliance, suggestive of a bright Puglia day and you’ll be transported to the beautiful Salento area, where old traditions and unique costumes are enriched with the culture of local wines and food.

While tasting it, you’ll feel the sound of its native land, particularly notes of its traditional dance ‘tarantella’ that will evoke memories of time gone by along Puglia’s white pebbled streets.

Salento IGP Brut Rosé Traditional Method aged 30 months on the lees.
50% Chardonnay, 50% Negroamaro cultivated in Alezio, in the beautiful Salento area. This wine offers an intense salmon colour and golden hues enlightened by a fine mousse. It exudes notes of red berries, in particular raspberry and notes of damask rose. Due the proximity of Salento’s pristine sea this wine offers a remarkable minerality enhanced by light saline notes.

On the palate, it’s crisp, soft and elegant with citrus aromas. It embraces the mouth with vivid minerality offering flavours of orange zest and pineapple. Its long finish is marked by outstanding acidity and good intensity.

It doesn’t get more classic than a Rosé bubbly to enjoy for Valentine’s Day.

Perhaps for its light, lovely rosy colour or for its graceful, delicate aromas, whatever it may be, there is no doubt that a glass of Rosé can create the right atmosphere and help you to fully celebrate the most romantic day of the year.

I’d like to wish you, my dear fizz lover, the most cheerful Valentine’s Day ever.

For those of you desperately seeking your soulmate, I’d like to tell you to never give in and look at the world through rose-colored glasses, because you never know what you can expect to find around the corner.

With love,

Stefania Ruffo
