A Nightmare on Elm Street Cocktail Halloween Cocktails

One, Two, Freddy’s Coming For You

Welcome to a new year of spooky Cocktails, where we choose a Halloween film and create a fitting Cocktail to go alongside, I’ll give you a little history into each film and the know-how to create a delicious Cocktail.

A Nightmare on Elm Street

You better not fall asleep while reading this article, because Freddy Krueger is out and about once again to aid in the creation of his new Cocktail, which we will make in just a few moments, but first, let’s discover a little about this cult classic slasher horror film that first released in 1984.

Other than being a famous horror franchise, the first movie can also take credit for introducing the incredible Johnny Depp at the age of 21 to the world, as A Nightmare on Elm Street was Depp’s first movie, he would never forget this, with him reprising his role as a camo appearance in what was, at the time, meant to be the final film, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare.

Johnny Depp was asked in 1993 if he had fond memories of his first film: “Yeah, I do have really fond memories, I mean, it was really exciting, it was also, I was shocked at Wes Craven (Director) and Annette Benson the casting director for taking such a chance on this guy (referring to himself)”. – Johnny Depp

Three, Four, Better Lock Your Door

We can’t forget about the main man, himself, Freddy Krueger was played by the same actor throughout every film, that actor was Robert Englund, who also took on a small role in Stranger Things Season 4, as the blind man, Victor Creel.

Five, Six, Grab A Crucifix

Although the film is not based on any true story, the inspiration for the film was very real, Wes Craven was inspired by some newspaper clippings in the Los Angeles Times during the 1970s, which detailed the experiences of some Hmong refugees who fled to America away from War and Genocide in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Those people supposedly suffered from very disturbing nightmares and refused to sleep, some of these men would later die in their sleep, it was officially called the Asian Death Syndrome.

Nine, Ten, Never Sleep Again

Now let’s meet the Sparkling Wine brave enough to fall asleep and create this cocktail with Freddy Krueger.

The Sparkling Wine – Rebolium Sinefinis

Rebolium Sinefinis was created by the bond of two young winegrowers, Robert Princic from Giasbana-San Floriano, and Matjaz Cetrtic from Kojsko in Brda. Upon their first meeting, they exchanged their views on the world of wine and approaches to wine marketing.

So it was then that Rebolium Sinefinis, a wine without borders, first saw the light, using the native variety that unites the two denominations of the Collio and the Brda, Ribolla Gialla/Rumena Rebula. Bringing together grapes sourced from vineyards in Italy and Slovenia and combining the know-how and the resources of the two wineries, Gradis’ciutta and Ferdinand, they created a traditional method Sparkling Wine that they say “truly speaks of Europe”.
