Love Yourself Love SLOVEnia
1st September 2021
Whenever the word ‘love’ is mentioned, especially in conversations regarding wine, then I think about Slovenia. Why? Well it is the only country with ‘love’ within it’s name (Slovenia) and also that I have spent many wonderful hours in Slovenia touring vineyards and discovering amazing flavours that are well hidden and deserve global recognition with each having grown my passion and love for the country as a sparkling wine (traditional method) producer.
When it comes to loving yourself then what better way to explore this by pairing some fine sparkling wines with fine foods that are designed to be good for you via Love Yourself.
Love Yourself: “Their focus is on creating tasty menus using locally sourced, fresh ingredients, which are prepared with you and your dietary requirements in mind and delivered safely to your door.”
When Love Yourself contacted us they suggested a trial of their service by sending us two full days of foods that adhere to not only healthy foods, but also limited to 1,500 calories per day. From breakfast, lunch and to dinner along with smoothies with quite satisfactory portions, you receive all securely by post chilled.
Dishes contain standard family favourites along with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options to select from and much more – Some will require heating up and others are ready to eat. Set your calorie level also and you will be pleasantly surprised at the options available to you and meal size, the dishes were fine for myself (I am not on a diet) as a daily food intake.
Radgonske Gorice: The sparkling wines chosen for pairing with the foods from Love Yourself were from Radgonske Gorice who are located in the northern part of Slovenia and right on the border with Austria. Slovenia’s biggest sparkling wine producer with an extensive list of sparkling wines to choose from.
