Making Pancakes With Sparkling Wine

To celebrate pancake day, its only right to open a bottle of Sparkling Wine to improve the fun.
But let’s not stop at a glass of Sparkling Wine, let’s give cooking pancakes with Sparkling Wine a go.
- 150ml Sparkling Wine
- 250ml Milk
- 1 Egg
- 175g Flour
- 1 Lemon
The Sparkling Wine – Radgonske Gorice
Radgonske Gorice has a wide selection of wine and sparkling wine to choose from but today we’ve gone for a bottle of Radgonske Gorice – Zlata Radgonska Penina Selection Brut 2016, this Sparkling Wine won the Trophy in the Zesty & Zingy Category at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2019.
Radgonske Gorice is located in Slovenia, they produce 4,500,000 litres of wine every year, with a production that high, it makes sense that Radgonske is the largest producer of Sparkling Wine in Slovenia.
They are not simply the biggest Sparkling Wine producers in Slovenia, they are also the oldest, they started over 160 years ago in 1852.
Aroma – “Lemon curd and green fruits.”
Taste – “Sweet citrus, giving a wonderful Zesty & Zingy experience.”
How To Make Sparkling Wine Pancakes
It’s just like making normal pancakes but you add in some Sparkling Wine.
1: Add the egg, flour and milk to a bowl and whisk to a smooth batter.
2: Pour in the Sparkling Wine and mix.
3: Heat some oil in a frying pan and get it really hot.
4: Pour in a ladle of the batter and tilt the frying pan to spread the mixture thinly.
5: Cook for approx 1 minute.
6: Flip the pancake.
7: Serve with lemon and sugar.
