Mawby, Michigan’s Sparkling Wine

3rd July 2015

Mawby

In 1973 we planted our first vines and established our vineyards at the Elm Valley location in 1976. These vineyards have been increased until today the property is fully planted with about 20 acres of vines.

Larry Mawby has been making our L.Mawby traditional method sparkling wines since our first sparkling winemaking in 1984. Since 2010, Mike Laing has been responsible for the M. Lawrence cuve close method sparkling wines.

Varieties we grow include pinot noir, vignoles, pinot gris, regent, riesling, chardonnay and pinot meunier. We also purchase significant amounts of chardonnay and pinot noir from other growers here on the Leelanau Peninsula for our L.Mawby wines. We source for M.Lawrence from Leelanau Peninsula, southwest Michigan and California.

Mawby is open for tasting sessions throughout the year. If you’re in the USA you can also freely join the FIZZ club and get benefits such as receiving three selections of four bottles each every year.
