Mimosa Cocktail

14th July 2015

The Mimosa is a simple yet delightful drink that makes an excellent cocktail to enjoy with brunch.

It is believed to have been invented by Frank Meier in the Hôtel Ritz Paris. The name comes from the Acacia dealbata, a species of Australian wattle, its flowers are, Mimosa-coloured.

The Mimosa cocktail is composed of one part Champagne, or other sparkling wine and one part orange juice, it is traditionally served in a tall Champagne flute. Choose a Champagne or sparkling wine that is not too sweet.

This refreshing and light cocktail is perfect with brunch as it pairs well with lots of dishes, like canapes, fish, white meat, salad and grilled chicken.
