No. 1 Family Estate Winery is wholly family-owned wine producing business located in the vineyards of Marlborough, New Zealand.
Daniel Le Brun originally launched the winery in 1997, along with his wife Adele and their two children, Virginie and Remy.
Using state-of-the-art equpment imported from Champagne, the estate prides itself on producing wines using methode traditionelle, a process perfected by Daniel Le Brun’s French Champagne-making family over the last 12 generations.
Daniel Le Brun has even been described as the “Grandfather” of methode traditionelle in New Zealand.
Their first wine, the award-winning No. 1 Cuvée, was released in 1999. Since then, there have been 6 others added to the range, showcasing some of the finest examples of methode traditionelle outside of France.
