Pairing English Sparkling Wine With Cheese Glass of Bubbly

Sparkling Wines and Cheese from England, both a marvel to explore individually, but we’re about to do it together, testing the pairing capability of English Bubbly with some of the hidden gems in the cheese industry.

Forman & Field Cheese

Forman & Field was born from the success and love of H. Forman & Son, ‘the king of fish’, selling some of the finest salmon in the UK for the past 100 years, beginning in 1905, when Lance Forman’s great-grandfather, Aaron ‘Harry’ Forman set up the family business with his son, Louis, in London’s East End. A Russian émigré with a family to provide for, Harry saw potential in the curing of fresh Scottish salmon.

The business still remains in family hands, with Lance Forman faithfully keeping the old traditions alive and in 2000 established Forman & Field, being able to supply the British Public to the Michelin Starred Chef, the finest salmon, cheeses, meats, pies and fish to serve and enjoy.

Montgomery’s Farmhouse Cheddar & English Bubbly – “The cheese stays strong but welcomes hints of fruit characters and lemon curd, subtle in approach, with background notes of green apple flesh, passion fruit and lemongrass.”

Perl Las & English Bubbly- “Sublime notes of elegance, the cheese, brilliant as it is, slips into a black suit or black dress, and ventures into the underground jazz rooms, where the music carries you into a new realm, the cigar smoke fills the room and this cheese and sparkling wine is laying in wait, just in front of you with its zesty saline, savoury blue cheese delight.”

Truffled Baron & English Bubbly – “The Sparkling Wine soaks into the cheese and delivers a delicate touch of minerals, citrus and saline, and later the quality creamy truffle from the cheese comes into play.”

Solstice & English Bubbly – “Crisp fizzy characters cleanse the palate, removing any creamy texture in the mouth, with smooth wet stones, minerals and green apples on the creamy/savoury blend of cheese, with its salty characters.”
