Piuma D.O.C. Garda Sparkling Wine

Piuma D.O.C. Garda sparkling wine is produced from hand-picked Chardonnay grapes from a single year. The wine is produced in the heart of the Morenic Hills, immersed in quiet green woods of birch and oak near Mantova and Lake Garda in Italy.

Cesare “Maître de Chai” and Franco Gozzi’s DOC Garda sparkling wine is normally a mix of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. However due to a shortage of Pinot Noir, the Cesare was produced as a Blanc de Blancs with hand-picked Chardonnay from the hills of Mantua. As a result “Piuma was born”. A beautiful wine, sophisticated with a light sparkling character, elegant, fine bubbles and an intense bouquet. The name Piuma (feather) was not only chosen to represent the lightness of the wine but also due to its connotation with the composers quill and the musical history of the region. Mantua is noted for its significant role in the history of opera. It is the place where the composer Monteverdi premiered his opera L’Orfeo.

Pale, golden straw in colour with aromas of fresh citrus notes of green apple, white peach with hints of white flowers. Crisp, fresh and clean with a ripe citrus flavour with green apple and touches of grapefruit.
