The Delicate Rose Cocktail

While taking a gentle stroll through the magnificent displays of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Butchart Gardens, Keukenhof, or your own personal floral creation, you should also have a drink which will match what your eyes and nose are experiencing. I’ve crafted one very delicate and subtle floral cocktail to allow you to discover the floral world using another sense.
The Sparkling Wine – HUBA
HUBA Wine Growing and Oenology is a new family estate, creating their wines in the image of their noble soil, gentle sunshine, mild climate and the hard work gifted by their people.
They worked hard to include their vineyards in the Agri-Environment Climate Programme (KOPOP), where they protect their soil against erosion through continuous grass planting, keeping up to date on pest control, not adding any synthetic mineral nitrogen and avoiding the use of insecticides.
Vina HUBA Martinčič – Sonatina Brut Cuvée – Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Yellow fruits, soft yellow candy citrus, yellow floral notes, yellow sherbet and yellow rose petals on the aroma.”
Flavour – “Fizzy lemon, lemon sherbet characters, yellow fruits, yellow pears and yellow apples, yellow rose petals and floral notes on the palate.”

The Gin – Fenspirits Rose Petal
Fenspirits Distillery, despite its wonderful creations, only operates out of a small shed in the fens, just outside of Wisbech. They ferment and distil everything from scratch, fermenting sugar from sugar beet and distilling it into a 96% spirit for Vodka, before then re-distilling it into Gin, they also ferment sugar cane molasses which is then distilled into rum.
Each bottle is filled by hand, corked by hand, wax sealed by hand then labelled by… well you get the picture!

- Pour in 15mls of Rose Petal Gin
- 25mls of Simple Syrup
- Top up with Sparkling Wine
- Drop in a Rose Petal or Two, Perhaps The Entire Flower
