Most Wanted: Bubbly Fit for a Can?

5th February 2018

If you got given sparkling wine in a can how would you feel? Is this elegant drink worth being put into a tin can?

There are two types available to buy, Pink Pinot Grigio and Pinot Grigio, the cans fit comfortably in your hand and are very handy if you are out on the go.

The cans do look very small, but although you don’t get as much as you do in a can of coke cola, the 200ml in each can, it can fill up a glass and a bit more.

These cans may be cool to whip out when your friends are round for a game of football, they won’t do to impress the in-laws, you’re better sticking to the bottle for that one.

Pinot Grigio
The taste of the Pinot Grigio is said to be peach, citrus and apple.
I definitely got the taste of peach while I had my can, but the smell is rather plain, I am unable to pick out any of the fruity aromas.

Pink Pinot Grigio
The taste of the Pinot Grigio is said to be strawberry and peach.
I didn’t get the same amount of peach as I did in the Pinot Grigio, but I am definitely able to taste and smell the strawberry.

The sparkling wines aren’t the best in the world, but it’s very handy to have it in a small can so you can carry it in your hand or even in your pocket.

To quote Most Wanted ‘Now you can crack open a can of fizz on-the-go, camping at a picnic, at the beach, at a festival or just when you fancy a cheeky glass.’

The cans do make it easier to chill in your fridge, but I think I will stick to having my sparkling wine from the bottle.

If you feel like you want to give these a try you can pick up a pack of four for £7 in Morrisons.

Both of the wines come from Hungary, are 11.5% vol – Note that they are aerated semi-sparkling wine obtained by adding carbon dioxide.
