1 in every 12 bottles of Champagne bought in the UK is from Aldi

According to a recent poll one in every 12 bottles of Champagne bought in the UK is from Aldi.

The Champagne that Aldi sells is Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut NV. This Christmas it is expecting to sell 50% more of its Champagne than last year and has 750,000 bottles ready for the festive period.

Veuve Monsigny Champagne is produced by Philizot & Fils Philizot who are based in the Marne valley in the heart of the Champagne region. They are fourth generation to run the business and the only Champagne maker that Aldi deals with.

Aldi says Veuve Monsigny Champagne had won awards for its “aromas of baked apple, brioche and stone fruits, with gorgeous flavours of red fruit.”
