4 Easy To Make Orange Fizz Cocktails With A Little Help From Tesco
5th December 2019
Christmas is soon approaching, so it’s time to start thinking about some Christmas drinks to enjoy, but don’t worry, Tesco has you covered this season with a selection of different Champagnes and Sparkling Wines along with Brandy’s and Gins to choose from.
Tesco is a British multinational groceries and merchandise retailer that was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen, the first Tesco store opened in 1931 in Burnt Oak, Barnet and by 1939 he had opened 100 stores across the country, in the mid-1990s Tesco had opened 500 stores, then just 15 years later, they had over 2,500.
I have with me a bottle of Champagne, Prosecco, Brandy and Gin, all available to buy at Tesco, I’m going to taste them all individually and then I’ll create 4 Orange themed cocktails that you can create at home.
Tesco’s Selection
Tesco Finest Premier Cru Brut Champagne
Tasting Notes – “Biscuit, toast, yeast and brioche with a touch of honey on the nose. Silky smooth yellow fruit flavours. A lovely Champagne from Tesco.”
Tasting Notes – “Green apples, peach and pear on the nose. Sweet green fruit flavours. A nice DOC Prosecco from Tesco.”
The Cocktails
Mimosa
For a Mimosa, you pour in 1/2 Champagne and 1/2 Orange Juice, but I’m going to try it with the Prosseco instead of the Champagne, so poured in 1/2 Prosecco and 1/2 Orange Juice.
Tasting Notes – “Easy to drink – fruity and fun, perfect start off for your Christmas party.”
Bucks Fizz
To create a Bucks Fizz, all you’ll need is a bottle of Champagne and a bottle of Orange Juice, pour in 2/3 Champagne and 1/3 Orange Juice.
Tasting Notes – “Like the older sister of the Mimosa, it is more elegant and refined with the Champagne giving a more classic feel, perfect with breakfast on Christmas Day.”
Orange Spiced Fruit Cocktail
For this recipe pour some Spiced Fruit Gin Liqueur into a glass, add in some Orange Juice and then top it up with Prosecco.
Tasting Notes – “The Spicy Fruit Liqueur gives it a very Christmas feel, perfect for that afternoon drink in front of a Christmas movie.”
Barbotage
The Barbotage will require a bottle of Brandy, a bottle of Sparkling Wine and some Orange Liqueur.
Tasting Notes – “A stronger cocktail with a kick from the Brandy, perfect for Christmas evening to give you that extra pick me up after a busy day.”
Don’t forget that I’ve just tasted a small amount of what Tesco has to offer in-store and online this Christmas season.
