5 Great ‘First Date’ Champagnes for Romance
22nd October 2019
Just the word Champagne will itself set the mind racing full of positive and joyous thoughts. It is the sparkling wine that is right up your street when it comes to thoughts of romance and seduction, when we wish to discover l’amour then Champagne has all the boxes ticked.
The famous French sparkling wine that is loved the world over, Champagne can offer lovers many benefits such as seduction, health & beauty and has even been suggested that it is the perfect aphrodisiac. One of my most popular posts on LinkedIn focuses on Champagne & Romance: 5 Reasons why Champagne is so connected with Romance.
At Glass of Bubbly, we see that romance and Champagne / sparkling wine are very closely connected so much so that we created a category, trophy and medals dedicated to how well a wine is suited for a first date. Picturing that nervous first date and with an exciting romantic dinner we need to bring along the perfect bubbles too, a wine that is both easy to drink and enjoy yet has that flavour to light up the eyes and get the romantic conversations and mood flowing. First Date category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards: “The perfect wine to accompany that first date. Nothing too complex and not necessarily a wine that needs to pair with exact foods.”
With romance and bubbles in mind, I wanted to taste over some of our previous winning Champagne labels that took home a medal in our First Date category:
Champagne Royal Riviera – Champagne Royal Riviera (Gold Medal First Date Category 2019) – Tasting Notes: “Delicate and elegant citrus / yeasty / hay / green fruits / baking apple flavours.”
