Jean Milan Grande Réserve
9th October 2014
This classically traditionnal Champagne is a blend of barrel fermented Chardonnays from the 2005 and 2007 vintages.
Extended ageing on lees has allowed the wine to develop deep and rich flavours covering the spectrum of almond, vanilla and toasted nuts to attain incomparable complexity. In keeping with tradition each bottles is hand finished in the manner of a bygone era.
A rare, rustic and elegant Champagne.
Tasting Notes
On the Eye: Quite light to look at with a stream of fine bubbles
On the Nose: Typical of many Jean Milan Champagnes, it is close to the earth so offers a rich mineral nose
On the Palate: Just the perfect balance of flavour and length, but what stands out is the silky long finish. Its stunning and rich, complex and fresh. A true chardonnay full of gentle citrus flavours and in Caroline’s own words, “simply very elegant”
Food Pairing: Enjoy as an aperitif or with a meal, as you wish.
