Champagne Vincent D’Astree

Champagne Vincent D’Astrée

The Name of Pierry most probably comes from the word ‘Pierre’ meaning stone, as denoted by a local saying from the Cubry valley. The soils of Pierry’s vineyards do indeed contain small stones, producing an unaffected wine with taste distinctly reminiscent of gunpowder.

Champagne Vincent d’Astrée was created in 1956, due to the desire and conviction of a handful of men who loved the land and who wished to have a certain degree of independence. At this time the champagne regions economy was faltering. These determined, committed men, with their solid grounding in local tradition, and great devotion to their land, took on a veritable challenge – that of turning their grapes to good account by making their own champagne.

This renowned brand which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006, now groups together more than 240 winegrowers attached to their locality, with the total cultivated area of 85 hectares.

Every wine-growers member puts all his heart, passion and respect for nature in the service of the vine throughout the entire year, to offer the best of themselves to the grapes.

The 3 champagne grape varieties  – Pinot Meunier (55%) Pinot Noir (20%) and Chardonnay (25%) are cultivated carefully in a locality classified as Premier Cru, for making authentic, rich and varied vintages, thanks to the know-how of a team managed by Patrick Bolvin, an ardent advocate of respect for the champagne tradition and of modern vinification techniques.
