Perrier-Jouët Arts Salon Prize Winner First Solo Exhibition

“Inflorescence and Other Artefacts” is Marcin Rusak’s first solo exhibition and celebrates his award of the 2015 Perrier-Jouët Arts Salon Prize for emerging makers.

Marcin’s multidisciplinary work,  inspired by the beauty and subtlety of the natural world,  is routed in the history and science of flowers and uses storytelling methods to investigate materials and the process of making.  Marcin’s work embodies the philosophies of Art Nouveau in a contemporary context to explore and re-imagine the overlooked details of our lives.

The Perrier-Jouët Arts Salon

Launched in January 2013, the concept of the Perrier-Jouët Arts Salon stems from the roots of the Salon in Paris from the mid-1700s, bringing together like-minded people under the roof of an inspiring host to refine tastes, muse on the Arts, inspire and increase knowledge through conversation.

The Salon supports the selection of an annual prize winner who receives a substantial sum to support them in the development of their career.  Candidates are nominated by leaders in the fields of Applied Arts and Craft and the Salon Members then select a winner from those nominees.

The winner’s work will best evoke a contemporary interpretation of the Art Nouveau movement, with their inspiration coming from natural forms and organic structures, which are so intrinsic to the Art Nouveau era.
