Some people prefer a drier, toastier sparkling wine, but if you’re a fan of fruity notes in your bubbly, there’s plenty choice out there. Here’s some quick advice and great choices for deliciously fruity bubbly, from dry to sweet.

Tropical fruits:
Prosecco is known for it’s light and fruity flavour which makes it an easy pick for fans of that style. Prosecco tends to be sweeter and can have flavours of tropical fruits, pear, melon and apple.

Also consider Californian sparkling wine for delightful tropical fruit flavours.

Try: Schramsberg 2010 Crémant Demi-Sec, (California), San Leo Brut NV (Prosecco)

Berries:
When it comes to rosé bubbly you can usually expect a fruitier taste thanks to the production methods. Sparkling wines made with mostly black grapes, such as Pinot Noir, tend to have more red berry flavours so keep an eye out for ‘Blanc de Noirs’.

For a more rich flavour of blackberries, try a sparkling red wine such as Lambrusco or sparkling Shiraz from Australia.

Try: 2014 Camel Valley Pinot Noir Rose Brut (English), Bolney Estate Cuveé Noir 2011 (English), Château Tanunda Nightwatch Shiraz NV (Australia)

Citrus:
Younger Champagnes tend to have a fruitier aroma (at around 2-4 years aged), then as they mature, it grows into a more complex, toasty wine. While Champagne tends to be toastier in flavour, you can find notes of white cherry, peach and citrus.

Try: Louis Roederer Brut Premier, Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne Brut, Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut

Peach:
You can find peachy flavours across many sparkling wines, including Champagne, Prosecco and New World Wines.

Try: Freixenet Cordon Negro Sweet Cuvée (Cava)
