“I am pleased to have been invited to judge at the Ljubljana International Wine Competition over in Slovenia where I hope to be tasting through some fine entries from around the world and I am of course particularly interested in the sparkling wines. Our own ‘The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2017’ was very pleased to receive over 20 sparkling wine entries from Slovenia and I am very pleased to be making a tour of wineries and of course judging for one of their prestigious awards.” Christopher Walkey

Ljubljana International Wine Competition is important for OIV as the first and Oldest International Wine Competition under OIV Patronage. The complete and strict observance of OIV rules make this competition a shining example for all the others competitions created since 1955 and I hope this success will continue in the next years. For OIV, Ljubljana is also known as the name of a Famous Resolution which has setup The First International Definition of Enologists.
