Sparkling Honey Margarita Cocktail

A new take on the Classic Margarita, adding some fizz and an array of luscious honey, changing the profile into a more delicate and elegant showcase, without compromising on what makes the Margarita so great in the first place.

Grab your Tequila, lick some salt and suck on a lime, it’s time to get busy, let’s craft Glass of Bubbly’s Sparkling Honey Margarita Cocktail!

The Sparkling Wine – No.1 Family Estate

No.1 Family Estate was created in 1977 by Adele & Daniel, they chose the name No.1 Family Estate in recognition of the many ‘firsts’ in New Zealand wine they had achieved over the years while working on their first venture, Cellier Le Brun.

They released their very first Cuvée No.1 on Bastille Day in 1999 and in 2012 their No.1 Assemblé was the first wine in New Zealand to be labelled ‘Méthode Marlborough’ in place of Méthode Traditionelle.

The Tequila – Cazcabel

Created in an independent micro distillery in the town of Arandas, Cazcabel Tequila is located in the highlands of the Jalisco mountains in Mexico.

The elevation of the town of Arandas ensures that the agave are well hydrated and that they have mineral and nutrient-rich soil required to allow them to grow larger than anywhere else in Jalisco.

After fermenting in steel tanks for 10 days, Cazcabel is distilled using a combination of copper pot and steel stills and then chill-filtered to get rid of any impurities.

The story of Cazcabel was only made possible thanks to the legendary Don Cazcabel, the Tequila brand ensures they only use locally sourced blue weber agave, which is grown for around 7 years before being harvested, with them planting new agave every year to ensure the constant flow of their smooth Tequila.

Cazcabel – Honey Liqueur with Tequila Blanco – Tasting Notes – “Rich with charming natural honey notes, you’ll unearth earthy notes with a sweetness from the honey on the aroma, and honey, caramel and even smoky and oaky notes on the palate.”

Sparkling Honey Margarita Cocktail Tasting Notes

Aroma – “Lime and honey are dancing together in and around the aroma of this cocktail, with roasted blue weber agave and brunt oak characters on the aroma.”

Flavour – “A pleasant surprise, it’s so delicate and elegant, with the soft tequila delivering subtle notes of honey, caramel and earthy notes, the sparkling wine’s fizziness has been absorbed, leaving crisp green fruits and freshly burnt oaky barrels and oak chips, the salt on the rim offers a saline expression when bitten into, taking your taste buds into a slightly different direction.

“The classic Margarita offers the palate a sweet but zesty display, this Sparkling Honey Margarita takes you onto a classical road, surpassing my expectations, blending each ingredient, not to what benefits them, but to what will benefit your tasting experience. Sweet honey with a soft expression of lime presenting throughout, with each salt bite rocketing your taste buds into a salty direction, away from its subtle sweetness.”
