Champagne Harvest 2025
25th July 2025
As per each year, Champagne winegrowers and houses met in Epernay, within the Comité Champagne headquarters, to agree on the conditions for this year’s upcoming harvest.
A healthy wine-growing season
The 2025 wine-growing season is looking quite promising. The Champagne vineyards are fairly homogeneous, reflecting the rigorous and careful work carried out throughout the year. Thanks to generally mild weather conditions, the vines have benefited from an environment conducive to their development, thereby limiting health risks.
A globally stable market
While the vineyard offers promising prospects, the global economic environment remains marked by uncertainty. Geopolitical and economic instability, combined with increasingly volatile consumer behaviour, makes forecasting more challenging.
In this evolving climate, Champagne shipments remain relatively stable, a sign of a resilient market. This situation encourages the industry to exercise caution, to adapt its decisions to a complex reality, while maintaining an ambitious vision for the future. In this context, the people of Champagne reaffirm their determination to continue their historic efforts to satisfy the demands of their customers and conquer new markets.
A responsible decision to prepare for the future
The available yield for 2025 has been set at 9,000 kg/ha. This collective decision between winegrowers and Champagne houses, is based on the unique regulatory model of the Champagne industry, which allows production to be adjusted to market realities while preserving the quality and sustainability of the appellation. It is part of a gradual destocking process that aims to readjust production and collectively prepare for a secure future.
“This decision reflects a clear-headed, united, and responsible Champagne region, capable of acting with restraint in an evolving world while maintaining unwavering confidence in its fundamental strengths. It demonstrates a spirit of cohesion in the face of challenges and a constant ability to look ahead with ambition.” Maxime Toubart, Co-President of the Comité Champagne
“With its renowned expertise, unique global image, and ongoing commitment to sustainable viticulture, Champagne continues to uphold the values that have made it reputable. This optimism is based on its proven ability to adapt, innovate, and build the future with ambition, without ever losing sight of today’s realities.” David Chatillon, Co-President of the Comité Champagne
