A Promising 2025 Harvest for Champagne Deutz
29th October 2025
Caroline Latrive joined Deutz in 2022, bringing with her a dynamic energy that exemplifies the modern mindset of the Deutz Champagne House. Guided by a deep understanding of the terroirs and the quest for drinking pleasure, the Deutz Cellar Master sees each cuvée as a work of art in its own right. Her skilled, intuitive and poetic approach now lies at the heart of Champagne Deutz’s signature style.
Harvest 2025 was exceptionally early, when on August 23rd, the first Chardonnays from Bisseuil were picked, placing 2025 among the vintages with the shortest time between flowering and harvest in Champagne’s history. The harvest confirmed lighter bunches, about 15% below initial estimates, but of impeccable quality: perfect sanitary condition, high ripeness (average pressing degree of 11.1), and highly appealing must aromatics.
Carried out in under fifteen days under ideal weather conditions, the 2025 Deutz harvest reflects a sunny and rare year, one that will be remembered for its unique earliness and exceptional quality!
This passion finds its consummate expression in Brut Classic. A true manifesto of the Deutz style, this iconic Champagne elegantly celebrates the infinite diversity of the Champagne terroirs. It reveals all the secrets of the Deutz Champagne House: the virtuosity of the blending work, the spark of inspiration, the boldness of vision, and the never-ending quest for perfect balance.
Deutz Brut Classic is the quintessential expression of the Deutz style. Year after year, the finesse of its blend shows a remarkable consistency that faithfully reflects its unique character. Precise, refined and silky smooth, Brut Classic has a unique personality that transcends the vagaries of the harvest and perfectly embodies the Deutz ethos of subtlety, purity and balance. An enduring signature of elegance and refinement, it combines crystalline freshness, aromatic complexity and delicate intensity in the purest Deutz tradition
The brilliant golden hue shimmers with delicate bubbles of a crystalline finesse, a Deutz hallmark, and the signature of long ageing on the lees. The bouquet is generous and expressive, unleashing floral notes of hawthorn and white flowers before revealing deeper aromas of toasted bread, marzipan and ripe fruit.
On the palate, the artistry of the blend is evident: the freshness of the Chardonnay entwines with the unctuosity of the Pinots in an elegant vinosity. The wine becomes rounder on the finish, lingering with a fruity caress and delivering a finale that is harmonious, charming and full of flavour.
Nicolas Lefèvre, Head Chef, suggests that Deutz Brut Classic is ideal as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with food. It works beautifully with shellfish, fish in delicate sauces, citrus-accented sea bream tartare, tender poultry, vegetable risotto or truffled Brie. With its elegant structure, fine bubbles and vibrant freshness, it is a remarkably versatile Champagne for the table.
“Since 2022 and the arrival of our new Cellar Master, Caroline Latrive, Champagne Deutz has been writing a new chapter in its history, faithful to its heritage yet firmly focused on the future. Nearly two centuries of independence and excellence have shaped our unique identity. Today, Champagne Deutz continues to pursue a vision rooted in excellence and exclusivity. Guided by creative freedom, a deep love of the finest terroirs, and a profound respect for the rhythms of life, the men and women of Deutz share a common mission: to reveal the full potential of Champagne’s greatest terroirs through wines of refinement, elegance and true drinking pleasure.” Marc Hoellinger, CEO
