A Trip To Champagne Faniel & Fils

We spent a lovely late morning and early afternoon with Mathieu Faniel, the owner and winemaker of Champagne Faniel & Fils, located in the heart of Cormoyeux, a small rustic village in the heart of the Marne.
He took us on a tour of his cellars going under the beautiful church next door and venturing across the street into his newest cellars, seeing the massive amount of space and stock that he has.
We then walked back to his main building under the blazing sun and sat down around his rolling barrel tables to enjoy a personalised Champagne and food pairing.

He prepared a lovely food pairing using his range or Champagnes and his delicious Ratafia.
It was a brilliantly organised tasting, allowing us to both enjoy his Champagne and Ratafia along with the food he served.
