Let’s Meet The Bartender!
“I never saw myself as a bartender, but I believe that I was lucky to meet the right people at the right time. While I was a part-time Barack, I met amazing bartenders willing to teach me the art of the craft and I was willing to learn. It’s been a year since I became a bartender and I plan to keep learning and becoming a better bartender. Besides bartending I’m passionate about philosophy, mythology and literature which most often is the inspiration behind my drinks.” – Mihai Vulpe
What was the inspiration behind your Drikkja Cocktail?
“The name of the cocktail is Drikkja which translates to “(alcoholic) drink” in old Norse. The cocktail was inspired by the old tradition and rituals associated with the mead, as mead was the only food of the god Odin. Mead was revered as a sacred beverage. Because, according to Norse mythology, Mead of Poetry was made from the blood of the wisest Norse creature and possessed certain abilities, such as persuading anyone with words. As a result, it was used for formal rituals and ceremonies by the Vikings. That’s how I was inspired to create a tasty drink which combines mead and sparkling wine in a delicious cocktail to enjoy at ceremonies with your family and friends. Don’t forget to toast like the Vikings SKOL!” – Mihai Vulpe
