Let’s Meet The Bartender
“My name is Petru Stratan I am a head bartender in a Clayton Hotel Dalata Group Ireland. I am from Romania I live in Dublin, Ireland, I’ve worked behind the bar for more than 15 years.”
“I’ve had a passion for this job since I started working for my family as a barista bartender, my family has a coffee shop in a small town and I have to care about the family business. I remember the first cocktail I had was the Singapore Sling, for me this was happiness in a glass garnished with an umbrella and maraschino cherry.
“I’ve worked for a few hotels and bars with prestigious names. I am passionate about my work I love what I do and I have a steady source of motivation that drives me to do my best, my passion is to make and create cocktails and improve the quality and aroma and garnish to other people. My favourite cocktail is a NEGRONI” – Petru Stratan
What was the inspiration behind Eau de Vie?
“Every cocktail journey starts with a single sip and beginning to create your own cocktail from scratch can seem intimidating but with little knowledge of some great places to find the cocktail inspiration you’ll be well on your way to creating. Inspiration for cocktails comes from many sources Childhood memories, Dessert menus, sweet, savory and spicy combinations.”
“Inspiration for this cocktail is very simple, occasionally I play cocktail roulette with my wife, I add on the table all the spirits and liqueur and I spin a bottle a few times then build a cocktail around the element so based on random choice. The cocktail is for summertime, it has a refreshing floral note and is bright.” – Petru Stratan
