Blushing Bubbles

This summer I attended an exciting event in Beverly Hills. It was Wine LA’s (founded by Master of Wine Candidate, Ian Blackburn) inaugural Rosé & Bubbly Festival celebrating the beauty of the blush and the bubbles. It took place at the chic Leica Store and Gallery. The event offered 20 plus fantastic brand participants and decadent appetizers by Petrossian caviar retailer and restaurant.

A few Rosé Champagnes that stood out during the day’s tasting were the 2005 Nicholas Feuillatte Palmes D’Or, Louis Roederer Brut Rosé, Michel Gonet and the incomparable Billecart-Salmon.

Aside from a delicious day of tasting, there was also a Rosé seminar with the effervescent Master of Wine, Jennifer Simonetti-Bryan. During the seminar, I had the opportunity to taste Coeur Clementine’s La Pétillante Brut Rosé (only 3,000 cases produced) from Provence. La Pétillante is 100% Grenache and was brilliant with the smoked Tsar Cut Jamaican Spiced Salmon!

Summer may have ended but these Champagne and sparkling rosés are beautiful for any season!
