Bollinger Searches for New Company President
30th January 2017
Champagne Bollinger’s current head, Jérôme Philipon has been promoted to the position of CEE at SJB (Société Jacques Bollinger), leaving a role to be filled at the company.
Philipon will soon have to relocate to Paris from his home in Reims for his new more senior position at Bollinger. He is the first person outside the Bollinger family to take on such a senior role, after being the only non-family member to join as a manager in 2008.
Philipon will now also preside over other companies owned by Bollinger, including Champagne Ayala, Burgundy’s Chanson, the Loire Valley’s Langlois-Château, and Cognac’s Delamain.
That sets the task for the company to find a new president this year to replace Philipon. The recruitment process to find will be thorough, the company will be taking their time to find the right person and are not planning to promote from within.
Philipon will be working under Étienne Bizot at SJB, a Bollinger family-member who has worked there for 26 years and has been promoted to chairman. This is due to Jean-Marc Courau stepping down as chairman at the age of 67.
