Established in 1685, Boschendal in South Africa’s Western Cape, between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, is one of the oldest and most iconic wine estates. It is renowned for producing premium, terroir-driven wines—particularly Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Cap Classique sparkling wines.

The estate is committed to regenerative agriculture and is the first wine estate in the world to achieve Green Key certification for its commitment to sustainable tourism and farming.

 

Grande Cuvee Brut 2017

Featuring a blend of 62% Pinot Noir and 38% Chardonnay. It offers a pale straw colour with aromas of green apple, citrus, brioche, and almond, featuring a dry, creamy mouthfeel.

Excellent with seafood, canapés, or fried dishes like fish and chips.

Tasting notes: Subtle biscuit and brioche on the nose. Peaches and cream in flavour with buttered toast, Mirabelle plums, macadamia nuts and almond croissant notes.

Silver Medal in the Creamy Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025.

 

Brut Rosé NV

Typically composed of Pinot Noir (72%), Chardonnay (18%), and a touch of Pinotage (10%) for colour and body. Delicate pale pink in colour. It boasts bright aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and cherries. Crisp and dry, with a delicate, creamy mouthfeel.

Ideal with seafood, summer salads, chicken dishes, smoked salmon, or soft cheeses like Brie.

Tasting notes: Intense red berry fruits in aroma and flavour. Complex with good length.

Brut NV

A refined South African Cap Classique made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Pale gold in colour. Well-rounded and balanced by a lively, crisp, and mineral-driven acidity.

Ideal for pairing with seafood, prawns, oysters, and light starters.

Tasting notes: Citrus and green apple with hints of almonds. Complex with good length.
