Carr Taylor Rosé 2019

David and Linda Carr Taylor planted their vineyard in 1971, on 21 acres of land that David had purchased in 1969, which surrounded his family home in the East Sussex countryside.

They planted varieties such as Reichensteiner, Gutenborner, Müller-Thurgau, Dornfelder and the classic Champagne varieties, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.

During the generous summer of 1976, their first commercially viable harvest for the vineyard was here and with it, some 2,000 bottles of Carr Taylor wines were produced!

It was in the year of 1983 that an exceptional harvest encouraged them to experiment with sparkling wine. ‘This venture produced 10,000 bottles of traditionally fermented sparkling wine and resulted in the first commercially available traditional method sparkling wine made in England.’ – Carr Taylor

“A delicate pink floral expression, almost candified, with its sweetness, along with tangerine, strawberries and cranberries. The palate delivers on the promise of the aroma, with an extra touch of sweetness and red berry tannins.” – Glass of Bubbly
