Pop across the river to get away from the hustle and bustle of Canary Wharf, after a short ferry ride you are transported to Spanish tranquillity at the Anna De Codornius Pop Up which has residency over the Summer months until end September 2017 at Double Tree Hilton Docklands, a former warehouse which dates back to the 17th century and retains its authentic architecture.

The Pop Up is inspired by the Queen of Cava, Anna De Codorniu and her hometown of Barcelona. Overlooking the river Thames on a hot summer evening, seduced by the delicate, feminine and sparkly flavours Anna was the perfect companion to our night. To add to the Spanish experience, we enjoyed a spot of alfresco dining and a variety of tapas dishes from the classic patatas bravas, meatballs in a rich homemade tomato sauce, chicken wings and paella which was paired perfectly to the Cava. We enjoyed 4 different varieties of Cava from the Anna de Codorniu Ice edition which is packed with intense flavours,  Blanc de Blancs Reserva, the Blanc de Noirs Pinot Noir, and bursting with the fresh and crisp taste of apple and berries make the Rosado easy drinking to perfectly compliment the Tapas tasting dishes.

I was pleasantly surprised, and happy to put it out there that it was by far the best Cava I had enjoyed and just as good as Champagne for a fraction of the price. Don’t judge me, check it out for yourself and enjoy the views, you won’t be left disappointed. Over the summer you can enjoy Fizz Masterclasses which are hosted by a knowledgeable and passionate Anna De Codorniu Ambassador. Or if you want to try your hand at Catalan cuisine then the Paella Masterclass would be a perfect alternative, of course accompanied by a crisp glass of Cava or few!

Walk ins are welcome, but we highly recommend booking for a group during the popular Summer months for a unique experience and the best views of Canary Wharf. The Terrace is open until 10pm 7 days a week.
