Halfpenny Green Vineyards, based near Wolverhampton, will be celebrating in style at the end of May.

The South Staffordshire vineyard and craft centre, founded in 1983, will be celebrating English Wine Week from Saturday 28th May to Sunday 5th June. The celebratory week, held annually, was set up by the English Wine Producers organisation and designed to raise awareness of wines made throughout the country.

Sales of English wine have been rising rapidly over the past several years and show no signs of slowing down. Waitrose, one of the largest stockists of English wines in the UK, recently announced they have increased their stock by 25%, including Halfpenny Green’s sparkling rosé wine.

Celebrations will be taking place at vineyards throughout the country and following the recent successes, the party will be in full force at Halfpenny Green Vineyards all week long. The week will be kicking off with a free-admission Food & Wine Festival on Saturday 28th May, featuring a range of English food and drink suppliers, wine tastings and live music. Throughout the week, the vineyards will be offering tours and wine tastings daily to promote everything great about English wine.

A large quantity of English wine production is concentrated in the south of England and the Home Counties. Over recent years vineyards all over the country have been benefiting from high temperatures and sunshine.
