Celebrate Frank Sinatra’s 100th Birthday at Searcys
10th December 2015
Music legend Frank Sinatra is to be honoured by one of London’s leading landmarks as part of his 100th birthday celebrations.
Searcys St Pancras Grand Champagne Bar will rename its stunning private dining room the ‘Sinatra Suite’ from December 12th and has teamed up with renowned artist Jim Wheat to showcase a
specially commissioned birthday print.
Wheat, whose Dollarsandart portrait style has won rave reviews across the globe, will see his tribute work to Ol’ Blue Eyes housed in the Searcys Sinatra Suite across December and January before it is given away to one lucky guest.
The artwork was commissioned to coincide with the Centenary documentary ‘To Be Frank’, and Searcys marketing director Rhian Phillips is delighted to be playing a part in Sinatra’s celebrations.
She said: “It seems very fitting that Searcys honours Sinatra, as a key member of the original Rat Pack he was always pictured with Champagne in hand.
“St Pancras Station also has strong romance links because of the allure of train travel, so having a room named after a legend that has sold millions of records like ‘Strangers in the Night’ certainly resonates.
“Searcys at St Pancras is an amazing place over the Christmas period and it is great that customers will be able to take a look at a commemoration of the singer that brought us ‘Let it Snow’ and ‘Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas’.
“Everyone who comes into Searcys during December and January will be given the chance to enter a ballot, and in February we will give the print to one lucky guest who will be able to remember Sinatra’s birthday in style!”
Artist Jim Wheat has created just 100 prints of the Limited Edition artwork, with full details available at www.sinatraat100.com
Wheat believes there could be no better tribute than joining forces with Searcys. He said: “Searcys has the same kind of mix of romance, style and flair that we wanted to reflect from Frank – I hope the guests enjoy the print and raising a glass to one of the true greats.”
