Glass of Bubbly Interview
Where’s the most memorable place you’ve enjoyed a Glass of Bubbly?
You never forget as a kid, being allowed to drink half a glass at a wedding, do you? It makes you feel so grown up!
Which is your favourite Champagne or sparkling wine?
I’m a connoisseur of pre-war jazz and I’m fascinated by Jelly Roll Morton, who loved the high life (there’s a chapter in his autobiography called ‘Diamonds Pinned to my Underwear’). His favourite Champagne was Mumm’s Extra Dry, so that’d be my pick.
What does Champagne mean to you?
A: Success
B: Romance
C: Celebration
D: Enjoying great company
Anne has been teetotal since she was 18 because she doesn’t like the taste, but also doesn’t approve of miserable hatched-faced anti-booze campaigners.
