Champagne Abelé 1757: Timeless Elegance Since 1757

2nd September 2025

Champagne Abele 1757

Founded in 1757 by Théodore Vander-Veken and based in Reims at the heart of the Champagne region, Abelé 1757 is the fifth oldest Champagne house and has been a custodian of craftsmanship and innovation for over two centuries. Previously owned by a Catalan family, the house became part of the Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne group in 2019, continuing its legacy with renewed vision and expertise.

The Maison owns no vineyards, sourcing grapes primarily through long-term contracts with trusted growers. Most of the fruit comes from the Marne, Sézanne, Vitry, and Aube, with a particular focus on Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from Verzy in the Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys in the Aube.

Abelé 1757 stands out for its rich heritage, its ongoing commitment to excellence and its ability to blend tradition and innovation to craft exceptional Champagnes.

The house’s artisanal know-how serves as a bridge between past and future, producing creations defined by finesse and precision.

Today, the house is led by cellar master Étienne Eteneau.

The Style

A négociant house with proven expertise, Abelé embodies a refined, artisanal approach in the tradition of the great Champagne houses. As a boutique winery with a deliberately limited portfolio, it focuses on quality over quantity. Its collection of six meticulously crafted cuvées offers a distinctive experience, revealing a rich palette of fruity and floral aromas from citrus to spice, designed to captivate even the most discerning palates.

This craftsmanship is fully expressed in the Collection Terroir, whose updated packaging further highlights the refinement and elegance of Abelé Champagnes.

Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut

Blend: 100% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs.

A creamy nose, with an explosion of ripe white fruit (pear, apricot), accompanied by lightly toasted aromas. On the palate, the bubbles are lively and the vinous texture offers a refreshing and fruity finish. This Champagne pairs wonderfully with white meat served in a creamy mushroom sauce or a flavorful seafood clam chowder.

Abelé Brut

Blend: 40% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier.

Fruity nose, slightly exotic, evoking fresh coconut, peach juice, and almond paste. Vibrant acidity with mineral tension that extends the finish, accompanied by saline notes. Creamy bubbles and beautiful vibrancy. A lovely balance between roundness and freshness, this Brut is an excellent companion to spicy Asian cuisine and sushi.

Rosé de Riceys, Le Sourire de Reims, 2008

Blend: Made exclusively from Pinot Noir from Côte des Riceys.

This rosé is a delightful surprise to end a meal. Crafted using a maceration method from Pinot Noir, it has been aged nearly 10 years in the cellar. It reveals a complex and indulgent bouquet of wild berries and wildflowers. On the palate, it offers a rich and silky texture with notes of rhubarb marmalade, absolutely exquisite! Try it with a rhubarb tart or a platter of fine cheeses.

Whether you are savoring a crisp Blanc de Blancs, a vibrant Brut, or the exquisite Rosé de Riceys, each bottle promises a unique and memorable tasting experience. Perfect for both special occasions and everyday moments, Champagne Abelé invites you to discover timeless sophistication in every glass!

Cheers!
