Champagne Armand de Brignac announces the global launch of the second assemblage of its ultra-prestige cuvée expression, Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Two (A2).

Just 2,333 bottles of Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs A2 were created and disgorged on June 20 2016, an even smaller production than the inaugural blend, ensuring that no compromise was made and only the most exceptional wine was created.

In an historic first, every single bottle of Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs A2 has been labelled with its unique number within the extremely small batch production (1 to 2,333), in addition to its disgorgement date, showcasing the rarity, exclusivity and collectability of this ultra-prestige cuvée.

Blanc de Noirs A2 rested in the cellars in France since it was bottled in early 2011. It is a distinctive assemblage of 100% Pinot Noir from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 vintages. The powerful expression was created from only the very first and freshest portion of the cuvée press– a signature of all Armand de Brignac Champagnes, ensuring the highest quality is achieved.

“Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs is our rarest jewel,” said Chef de Cave, Jean-Jacques Cattier. “We reserve a small selection of our very best Pinot Noir parcels to create this expression.”

“For this second assemblage, it reveals more notes of peppermint, stone fruit and an intense minerality. As you taste this Champagne you have the feeling that its development is just at the beginning and it could flourish and intensify with even further cellaring, potentially 15 years or more.”

Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Two was crafted with hand-picked fruit from the lauded Pinot Noir growing villages of Bouzy, Verzenay, Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes and Rilly-la-Montagne. The 11th generation Champagne growers, the Cattier family, selected the trio of vintages based on the refined acidity of the exceptional 2008 vintage, the powerful layers of fruit and texture offered from the 2009 year, and the lively green notes from the 2010 harvest. When blended, the trio produced aromas of vibrant grape, honeysuckle and peppermint, with hints of peach and apricot. On the palate, red fruits, mint and a hint of cinnamon combine, to create a beautifully layered wine with an elegant freshness to the finish. It can stand on its own, but perfectly pairs with roasted black cod with truffle, freshly shucked oysters and lightly grilled lamb.

The highly limited number of bottles of Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Two will be available at fine wine stores in select cities globally, including Harrods in the UK. RRP: £675.00 per bottle.
