Champagne Bouché Pére & Fils Millésime 2006
1st April 2019
Champagne Bouché Pére & Fils is a winery located just south of the heartbeat01 town of the Champagne region of Epernay, a family run business of four generations with 30 hectares to its name.
“Based in Pierry for four generations, the family Bouché runs a 30 hectares vineyard located in the best terroirs of Champagne.
We put all our experience in producing elegant and delicate champagnes, developed in strict accordance with the Champagne tradition. ”
Nicolas Bouché Winemaker, their Enologist, sees over a fine range of labels made from 75% of ranked first and Grand Cru (village of Pierry, Chouilly, Verzenay, Verzy, Tauxieres) – Three grapes will be found in their wines being Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Vintages are wonderful from this Champagne house which landed them a trophy in 2017 for ‘Vintage’ at The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards. We are now seeing their latest millésime of 2006 which we were kindly sent a couple of samples of to taste and review:
Champagne Bouché Pére & Fils Millésime 2006: “You must allow this Champagne a few moments in the glass to come alive. A warm yellow colouring and fine perlage. Aromas are plenty and engaging, led by pastry / brioche with hints of honeycomb, over ripe apricots. Now on to the taste which is just as high impacting, yellow stone fruits, apricot / honey pastry with a pleasing length. Not only a Champagne for that special moment, but this will also be great for pairing with fine foods – deserves to be sat on any table.“
