Champagne Delavenne Pere & Fils: Rebranding and Renovation
17th January 2018
Champagne Delavenne Pere & Fils: The architecture and design of a new generation in Bouzy Champagne.
An investment in the future 10 years in the making. Champagne Delavenne Pere & Fils puts their rebranding on display with a heightened international outreach and a newly renovated Champagne house.
The Foundation. Good architecture requires not only a plan to follow but also a good foundation to build upon. Champagne Delavenne Pere & Fils has its roots firmly planted in Bouzy, with vines Ambonnay and Cramant – Producing only 100% Grand Cru Champagne and Bouzy Rouge – Traditions that have been passed down from father to son, for four generations.
Champagne and a family’s future bound together as one.
Since taking over the family champagne house officially in 2008 Jean-Christophe Delavenne has been in a state of perpetual motion towards the future, making giant leaps each year, starting with his marriage to Maelle in 2010.
Building their own traditions with the creation of their family.
When Maelle left her job in Paris and officially joined the Delavenne family’s Champagne business in 2011, bringing her love for design and architecture with her, the family’s plans were set in motion. The conception phase for a total re-branding of the house began with new logos and labels: A parade of graphic designers, printing companies, architects and construction crews…An architectural renovation ensued, requiring 2 years of preparation work.
Inspired by the birth of their first child in 2012. (a stellar harvest year!) Jean-Christophe’s wine-making skills were set to task, and a new Champagne cuvée ‘Amour de Louise’ was born to celebrate the occasion.
Celebration of growth, celebration of love.
With the birth of twins in 2014, two more cuvées are on the way. By the end of 2015 the new packaging and label designs were launched, in 2016 the finishing touches were done on the newly designed tasting room, reception area, offices, family home…
Taking on the world with export and communication opportunities is the next giant step. 2017 brought new partnerships, more international gold medals and wine awards, more social media, more interaction. Early 2018 will find Champagne Delavenne on the move to International wine fairs, wine-maker dinners, masterclasses, press opportunities and some intensive English classes for Jean-Christophe!
