Champagne Launay: The Silver Range
19th December 2014
Tradition
(60% Chardonnay – 40% Pinot Noir)
Pale gold. Ripe bouquet of white fruit (peach and pear), with hints of dried or candied fruits producing a complexity of aromas. Straightforward supple texture, with lightness and plenty of length. Its maturity really comes through
Réserve
(40% Chardonnay – 60% Pinot Noir)
Brilliant light gold. A rich, mature bouquet of candied fruits, honey and pineapple. Lively, opulent texture. Delectable and frank.
Sélection
(50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir)
Brilliant pale gold colour. The fresh, subtle Chardonnay bouquet reveals fruity and floral notes, then develops more complexity, with gingerbread and brioche. The texture is frank and rich. A very attractive wine.
Rosé
(45% Chardonnay, 55% Pinot Noir)
A pale pink robe with redcurrant highlights, a delight to contemplate. The bubbles are subtle and the bead very present. The bouquet is rich and gourmet, with black fruits such as blackberries and cooked red fruits like strawberries coming through. The palate is supple and very subtle.
Prestige
(30% Chardonnay – 70% Pinot Noir)
Yellow gold colour. The bouquet is fine and complex, rich in dried and candied fruit moving on to toasty flavours (hazelnut), salted butter caramel, floral hints (hawthorn). The smooth texture reveals the mineral nature of the terroir (well-rounded freshness).
