Champagne Mercier Brut Réserve
13th January 2015
A blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay, Mercier Brut Réserve is of an intense golden color. The bouquet is characteristic of candied citrus, dried apricots and raisins. This is accompanied by nuances of almonds and hazelnuts and the scents of dried fruit combine with notes of nougat, caramel and spices.
The aromatic complexity evolves toward notes of roasted coffee, cocoa and toasted brioche.
The generous proportion of Pinot Noir creates an impression of structure and fullness on the palate, with flavors of jellied quince, apple and pear. Fresh notes of verbena and thyme convey this mature plenitude toward a finish of delightful freshness and pleasant languor underscored by the slightest hint of pleasing bitterness.
“A starry night is just one of the many settings for enjoying Mercier Brut Réserve, but that’s often the occasion when I like to bring out this new reserve. Pairing it with scallops in cream sauce and sea bass grilled with fennel will definitely please palates!”
