Champagne Moutard
4th April 2014
Generations of winemakers since the 17th century.
Since 1980, Champagne Moutard has been run by Veroniqe, Francois and Agnes Moutard.
Making wine for several generations, producing a range of Champagnes from our own grapes and from grapes purchased from our vine-growing friends.
Francois Moutard has been able to give a new lease of life to old almost forgotten Champagne varieties such as Arbane, Pinot Blanc or Petit Meslier. he has created a collection of old vintages produced with 100% Chardonnay stored in the cellar for between 10 and 20 years and the fabulous cuvee produced using 6 different grape varieities, the only one of its kind in Champagne.
Our vineyard, whose origins go back to Gallo-Roman antiquity, is situated on the sunny slopes of the Côte des Bar in the southern part of the Champagne Region, 22,5Ha vineyards in total.
1 000 000 bottles sold a year.
Every year, during the fourth weekend in November, when the distillation process begins, Francois Moutard holds two open days where he reveals the secrets of his Eau de Vie to an increasingly large number of visitors.
